Audesian lets you write your own self-hypnosis scripts, turn them into audio, and listen back. Those scripts are personal — often deeply so — and this page sets out plainly what happens to them, what leaves your device, and who else can see it.

If anything here is unclear, ask: info@audesian.com.

The short version

Who we are

Audesian is a trading name of Wildcard, Long Copse House, Higher Coombe, Shaftesbury SP7 9LR, United Kingdom, which is the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect, and why

Your account

When you sign up we store your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your name and profile picture from Google. This is handled by Supabase Auth and is used to identify your account and let you sign back in.

The content you create

This is the substance of the app, and we store it so you can come back to it. Depending on your storage setting it lives on your device, in our database, or both.

Personalisation details

If you fill them in, we store your display name, nickname, notable personal triumphs, your preferred sources of calm and energy, your goals, and any words you'd rather avoid. These exist so AI-generated scripts can sound like they were written for you. They are optional and you can clear them at any time in Settings.

Audio

Voice recordings

If you use voice cloning, the recording you upload is sent to our voice provider (Async) through our server in order to build the cloned voice. A recording of someone's voice is personal data, and if you're cloning someone else's voice — a therapist's, for example — you must have their permission.

Usage and plan

Audio is generated through our own provider account rather than one of yours, so we meter it. We record which plan you're on, how many seconds you have generated in the current allowance period, and when that period started, so we can apply your allowance fairly. This is a count of seconds — not a record of what you generated or what it said.

Payments

If you subscribe to Audesian Plus, the purchase is made through Paddle, our reseller and the merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment details, billing address and country, and handles tax, invoices and refunds as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details. Paddle tells us your email address, your subscription status and renewal date, so we can switch Plus on and off for your account.

Feedback

If you send feedback through the app, we store the message and your account ID, so we can reply and adjust your allowance.

What stays on your device and never reaches us

Who else your data reaches

We keep this list short deliberately. Each of these is a company that processes some of your data so the app can work.

WhoWhat they receiveWhy
SupabaseYour account, scripts, sessions, personalisation, session mixdownsDatabase, sign-in and file storage
VercelRequests to the app, including anything routed through our server functionsHosting
GoogleYour sign-in details — only if you choose "continue with Google"Authentication
Async (our voice provider)The text of the script being spoken, and any voice recording you upload for cloningTo generate the audio, via our server and our account — you don't need one
PaddleYour email, payment details, billing address and country — only if you subscribeTaking payment, tax and invoicing, as merchant of record
ResendYour email address and any feedback message you send usSending our emails, including forwarding your messages to us
Anthropic (our AI writing provider)What you ask the AI writer for: your brief, any name or details you add, and the draft you ask it to changeTo write and revise scripts when you use AI writing, via our server and our account — you don't need one

Two of these deserve emphasis:

Our voice provider sees your scripts. Whenever you generate audio, that script's text is sent to Async through our server. Their privacy policy then applies to it too. If a script is too sensitive to share with a third party, don't generate audio for it.

Our AI writing provider sees what you ask it to write. When you use AI writing, your brief, any name or details you add, and the draft being changed are sent to Anthropic through our server. Anthropic does not use this to train its models, and their privacy policy applies to it too. We keep only a count of the scripts you've written with AI, never the words. If something is too personal to share with a third party, write that script yourself.

We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or hand it to anyone else except where the law requires it.

What we don't do

Sensitive information

Self-hypnosis scripts often touch on health, mental health, relationships, or beliefs. Under UK and EU data protection law some of that counts as special category data, which gets extra protection.

We handle it on the basis of your explicit consent — you choose what to write, whether to generate audio from it, and whether to use AI assistance at all. You can withdraw that consent by deleting the content or your account.

Please bear in mind that anything you send to a voice or AI provider leaves our control and enters theirs.

Keeping it safe

No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise. But your scripts are not sitting in a public bucket.

How long we keep it

We keep your content until you delete it or close your account. Delete a segment or session and it goes from our database; the cached audio on your own device is removed when you clear it or disconnect the folder.

Ask us to close your account and we will delete your profile, scripts, sessions and stored audio. Backups may persist for a short period before rolling off. Paddle keeps its own payment records for as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

If you're in the UK or EU you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, take it elsewhere in a portable form, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time.

In practice: most of this you can do yourself in the app — edit or delete any script or session, clear your personalisation fields, or export a backup of your content. For anything else, email info@audesian.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we've handled your data badly. We'd rather you told us first.

Children

Audesian isn't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app.
